Art by Phil Foglio and Cheyenne Wright. Agatha Heterodyne, main character of Girl Genius. She stands with her back to the viewer, looking up at a clockwork representation of the cosmos.

Who We Are

Phil and Kaja Foglio are the award-winning creators of the Girl Genius series of novels, comics and games!

Our newest triumph is the Girl Genius: Adventures in Castle Heterodyne video game made by Norwegian game developers Rain Games. It’s an old-school action adventure game with lots of puzzle solving and exploration, and it’s based on Agatha’s adventures as she reclaims her family home: the evil mechanical monster that is Castle Heterodyne.

If video games aren’t your favorite, a tabletop role-playing game from Steve Jackson Games was also recently published! Powered by the GURPS RPG system, it’s easy and fun to learn and play.

Girl Genius has won several awards, including the Hugo Award for Best Graphic Series three years in a row. In 2023 Phil was awarded the Reuben award from the National Cartoonist Society for Best Online Comics: Long Form for 2022.

In addition to our own Studio Foglio, we have worked extensively for other companies, including Magic the Gathering from Wizards of the Coast, DC comics, and Steve Jackson Games. With growing piles of comic book pages and paintings strewn around the studio, we thought it high time we get some of it out of our hands and into the hands of art connoisseurs and collectors.

Cheyenne Wright is the lead color artist for Girl Genius!

He is also the co-creator of many other fine works; Including 50 Fathoms and the Ennie award winning Deadlands Noir for the Savage Worlds RPG

Cheyenne lives in Seattle with his wife, their daughter, and an ever growing stack of unpainted miniatures.

In his spare time he is teaching himself animation, and narrates short stories for a variety of audio anthologies where he is known as Podcasting's Mr. Buttery ManVoice (tm)
